So it begins...

When Kim and I first started talking about this trip it was just a far-off dream about traveling "the world." Since then our dream has grown and changed and finally took form this semester when we settled on traveling through Southeast Asia. We started with just a couple of countries and a few months minimum, and now our plans stretch from July all the way to January and from Bali, Indonesia to the vast country of India! Let's see, that's roughly... 210 days... and between 6 and 7000 miles. These maps don't include our route in India, and so far the tally is 5,811 miles:

Bali to Phuket, Thailand

Bangkok to Bangkok (heading east first)

Bangkok to Kathmandu

There are two weeks left until graduation (on May 5th) and our one-way tickets to Bali are booked for July 23rd. Soooo, this is happening! We still have a little bit of planning to do, and a whole lot of fundraising, but we are confident that our needs will be provided for in time! As our planning comes along, we'll be posting little updates, tidbits, and reflections about our trip on this blog. A mutual goal that Kim and I have while we travel is to be intentional about writing everything down, hopefully with the end result of having our work published. So this will also be a sort of think tank for some of our creative work. We want to know your thoughts, opinions, and feedback! Your interest in our trip means so much to us, and anything you have to say is a huge encouragement.

Subscribe to this blog so you can stay updated on what we're doing! Let's start this journey together!
